Hello! I’m Danny, welcome to my site!

Biomedical Visualization is a creative career path I was unaware of until like most people I stumbled upon it and then couldn’t imagine doing anything else. Creating a nexus between the visual arts, medicine and biology, this work is endless with potential for creating visually compelling imagery. Enabled by emerging technologies in digital content and motion picture creation, this is a creative endevour of taking the complexities of ¬†life sciences and distilling them to their essential parts for comprehension and rendered conclusions that could not have been drawn otherwise.

I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts from the Columbus College of Art and Design and had planned to continue my education at the graduate level pursuing an MFA in painting and drawing. Taking into account a dilettantish interest of anatomical sciences and physiology that I’ve always had, coupled with drawings and illustration that reflected that persuasion, the masters program in Biomedical Visualization at the University of Michigan fit like a glove. At Michigan I was afforded use of the very latest technology in 3D reconstruction, motion capture, and electronic illustration and of course 3D computer animation. I was also granted the opportunity to attend one of the top 10 medical schools in the country.

Upon graduation I took a position with the visualization group, Visible Productions, in sunny Fort Collins, Colorado. I started in 2003 and have been Art Director of the animation department since 2007. I do everything. From content creation, pre-visualization and storyboards to final composite.
